About Us
Best Insurance Agency Inc. can trace its roots to 1917, when Wesley Sipe and Carroll Miller formed Sipe Miller Company. In 1951, J. Alvin Magill became partner and the agency was renamed Miller Magill Agency. At the death of Carroll Miller, Elmer E. Best became a partner in Miller-Magill-Best Agency. Upon the death of Magill in 1973, Elmer Best became the sole owner of the Best Agency.
At the death of Elmer Best in 1988, his daughter Carol and son Donald became owners, and incorporated as Best Insurance Agency, Inc.
In 1995, Best Insurance acquired the assets of RoseRee Inc., and Michael Reese and Raymond Rosenbauer were added as partners.
Acquisitions along the way included the Alvin Gerwick Agency in Mars, PA., and in Butler, Starr Insurance Agency and Albert Solla Agency.
Best Insurance Agency and its predecessors have never been located more than 1 - 1/2 blocks from the present location on South Main Street, which speaks to our commitment to Butler and to our valued clients.
Present owners, employees, and length of service include Donald Best, since 1979, Carol Best McClean, 1971, Richard McClean, 1973, Michael Reese and Ray Rosenbauer, 1993, Catherine Berger-Reese, 1996, Jamie McDonald, 1997, Thomas Fleming, 1998, Carol Prokay, Michelle Warner, since 2001, Katie Peindl, 2002, and Jeffrey Sinz since 2003.
